Bye bye Winter – hello Spring………

Afternoon all……

Been busy recently….have been working away at some new designs – catching up on orders and looking forward to warmer days! Winter has been going on for so long, almost forgotten what the sun looks like! Think that’s why, in the dark dreary days of winter I have been inspired to make so many floral based pieces.

Waterlily -£195

Its the amazing colour combinations and textures that nature and  Spring throw at us every year that has me coming over all technicolor !  Plus – I know how much you girls love your colour – so many of the designs I have made this time around are available in up to  40 different colours..or colour combinations….why be dull??!!

Mini Ava - £145

The future looks sparkly!

Afternoon all…….

I’m very pleased and very excited to say that my 2013 Bridal and Cocktail collection is finished and has been photographed – so only a matter of time now until I can share these pieces with you!

Its been a labour of love…I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I’m a magpie – I love all things sparkly and this collection feeds more of this addiction than any I have done before!

Not only the sparkle though…I love the glamour by gone days from the 20′s right through to the 50′s when women really dressed as women…nipped in waists, proper heels, lipstick, a dab of powder, a lady like clutch, gloves, pearls and of course a hat of some sort! Saying all that, I’m sitting here in jeans and a very cosy jumper…but in my heart I’m Grace Kelly in Rear Window wearing the fullest of full skirts with my hair beautifully coiffured!

This collection is my take on the fabulous styles that have gone before…pill box hats, birdcage veils, flounces of tulle and luscious flowers. While I have created many of these in ivory and white with clear stones, I hope that the non brides among you will be able to see passed this to the rich and varied tones that all these headdresses can be created in. Jewels, crin, feathers flowers and veiling in (almost) every colour in the rainbow……you only have to ask! Samples available on request!!

The count down begins………. but here’s one to be going on with!

Beth Morgan Millinery – a new collection

I always seem to start my posts with its been too long or where has the time gone etc etc – but this time its soooo the case! I feel like I have been in Ground Hog Day for at least the last 3 months! Get up, take kids to school, work, pick kids up, make dinner, bed…alarm goes and I start again!  I have been really busy and I can just about see the end is in sight – orders done and its time to take a breath and re-boot…or what ever the millinery version of that is!

Needless to say some of my great plans have fallen by the way side, been postponed etc etc one of which is the launch of my new collection of Ready to Wear hats…or my -’Oh Lordy have a wedding next week and no headdress/fascinator /hat to wear’ what do I do collection!! I hope to have the shop up and running on really soon, like, next week soon but thought I would add some images here so that you can see whats on offer. Most of the styles come in approx 6 colour ways – I have some stock ready made to send out  for an over night delivery – other pieces will be made to order in approx 5-10 days, hopefully I can get them to you sooner! Prices range from £80-£150. Below a taste of things to come. Please contact me either via the blog or email me at or Twitter @bethmorganhats or call 07766 201490 if you need more info!

Thanks for your patience!

Wedding Hats

The time is fast approaching ladies when we will start the trawl of the shops for that perfect hat to wear with the perfect dress and perfect shoes…that you hope will stay comfortable all day!! My advice is, don’t leave it until the last minute…if you can help it…..I know stuff happens, like weather…..colours clashing……some one has bought the same thing! Be prepared….the shops will be getting all their spring summer stock in any time now and before all the goodies have been snapped up you need to be in there ready to pounce!!

I have already heard from many Mother of the Brides…MOTB…..who have decided to work from the hat down! This works well if you are having something custom made that can be in any chosen colour. I work each season with a palette of at least 50 sinamay colours, flowers, feathers, veiling that come in maybe 25 different colours….not to mention the dyed to order pieces and a whole colour spectrum of crystals .There is no need to panic….your colour is out there, some where just find the right milliner to create that perfect headdress for you!

Pictured below are images of one of my most favourite designs, The Ava….just to give you an idea of the many ways different colour schemes can work on the same hat, these are just some of the ones I have made in the last year!! I am always happy to send colour swatches and give ideas for colour schemes….just ask!! A great way to get ideas for fascinators is to send me an image of your outfit and I will then, by return send you images of the kind of headdress I think would work to create the best effect…only ever ideas…I am more than happy to make what ever you would like!!
