The New Dress Code Rules For Royal Ascot 2012

I can’t tell you how many people rang me, emailed me and stopped me in the street to ask me about the new rules for Royal Ascot………!!

So….just to clarify…..

Royal Enclosure Dress Code

Please note the dress code below is NEW for 2012.

Ladies
Ladies are kindly reminded that formal day wear is a requirement in the Royal Enclosure, defined as follows:

  • Dresses and skirts should be of modest length defined as falling just above the knee or longer;
  • Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater;
  • Jackets and pashminas may be worn but dresses and tops underneath should still comply with the Royal Enclosure dress code;
  • Trouser suits are welcome. They should be of full length and of matching material and colour;
  • Hats should be worn; a headpiece which has a base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat.

Ladies are kindly asked to note the following:

  • Strapless, off the shoulder, halter neck, spaghetti straps and dresses with a strap of less than one inch (2.5cm) are not permitted;
  • Midriffs must be covered;
  • Fascinators are no longer permitted in the Royal Enclosure; neither are headpieces which do not have a base covering a sufficient area of the head (4 inches / 10cm).

Lucky then that all my hats conform to these new guide lines!! Seems that one of the new rules is simply that we shouldn’t call them fascinators any more, but the more grown up headdress or head piece!

Maybe something like this……….?!

Light at the end of the tunnel……

Afternoon everyone……

Where has this month gone to? Every year the same - January seems to disappear almost as quickly as my New Years Resolutions! Number one on my list this year was get more creative! Would have thought that this would have been pretty easy….however have had a serious case of admin….loads of it…new website being built – a new shop feature to organise- photo shoots to re- arrange….the list goes on and on!

However I think there is light at the end of the tunnel….can almost see the finish line!! Better not speak too soon!!

I am hoping to launch my 2012 collection any day now….a soft launch at first…….will be showing on my website very soon, promise!!……. but I have so many people asking to view the designs I think I will have to utilize some of the social net working options I have at my disposal and get it out there! So watch this sapce…and Twiter and Facebook! I’m really excited to show it…can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

So just as a little appetizer I have attached a really lovely picture, of one of the largest headdresses from the collection, below……….

Kristina is the very chic and very obliging model and the fab and ever so classy images were shot by Tim Lyons of www.timlyonsphotography.co.uk

P.S Have a new page on Facebook….please feel free to ‘Like’ me!! Thanks BM

Happy New Year

Afternoon everyone and a Happy New Year!

Now that the mad rush that is Christmas is over….decorations are down and stored away and we have sung in the New Year its time to put all those good intentions…all those wild ideas and crazy dreams into action!

I have been lacking in the blogging department I know….but I’ve been busy!

In the last 8 week I have had the busiest time ever with orders, completed 2 new collections…..soon to be unveiled….watch this space……. and am undertaking what I consider to be something new and rather exciting…although scary at the same time! So much work so little time!

However I have decided that to move forward I need to conquer my fears and just get on with it! To that end I am in the process of developing a new all singing all dancing website which will not only show case my brand new collection but will also be a platform for showing unique one off items…things that can only be made once because of the fabulous piece vintage lace I have found or a totally unique perfect Art Deco jewel.

I will also be showcasing my brand new Ready to Wear collection. All very exciting and sleep preventing at the moment, but once up and running something of which I can be very proud!!

Thank you to all my 2011 customers…have met some wonderful people this last year. I hope to be able to show more of my ‘hats in action’ pictures on here soon…..Beth Morgan, as worn by you! Looking forward to the fab surprises this year will bring!
